“Les Dormeurs (the sleepers) is a clay sculptures project initiated in 2017 following recurrent insomnia. Each sculpture corresponds to a night of insomnia. The project has subsequently evolved into a series of drawings and photographs where each sleeper is photographed in the hand of a person in the position that pleases him. I subsequently made prints in brass and silver. The silver sleeper carried in the hand reflects fragments of the face of the person carrying it.”
Sirine Fattouh, the artist’s words.
A sensitive and intimate work, and at the same time universal since these objects evoke a “letting go” that every human being experiences in sleep.
