Description

“This scarf is called “ANTIBES”, because it was inspired by the summer I spent in Antibes, in the South of France. The name given to Antibes by the ancients was Antipolis, or “the entrance to the City”, with the City in question being Massilia (Marseille today).
It was built by the Phocaeans, (Greeks from Western Anatolia, according to Herodotus). This coming together of fragments of history, of sea faring peoples, of the sea that carried them and the rocks that gave them sanctuary, evokes the intricate pattern which links all human life, and all humans being carried around the World by their destinies. It is a reminder of our common history and heritage, of what unites us in a time of uncertainty and upheaval.”
