Boris Bergmann © Fondation Thalie

Tomorrow live broadcast on our site, the Foundation invites the author Boris Bergmann, in dialogue with Florence Cats and Joseph Charroy, visual artist and photographer. They will share their experience of Rome, the city-museum that welcomed both of them over one-year residency at the Academia Belgica and the Villa Medici in 2018. A time to exchange, read and interact with you around the fruits of their research: two publications, Les Corps Insurgés (Calmann-Lévy, 2020) and Lavori Corso (Primitive editions, 2020).

« I met Joseph Charroy and Florence Cats in Rome. We exchanged, discussed, danced, toasted, experienced Roman life, its beauty and its flaws, its skies and its nights. »

Emanuele Coccia & Fabrice Hyber © Fondation Thalie

On the occasion of this first meeting linking art to major environmental issues, the Foundation gives the voice to Fabrice Hyber, visual artist and Emanuele Coccia, philosopher and lecturer at EHESS. They will discuss the responsibility of the artist and the philosopher facing both of the ecological and health crises we are going through. This encounter will be an opportunity to question the impact of these crises on artistic and writing practices.

This conversation, moderated by Nathalie Guiot, will be live broadcast on our website from the event page. Should you wish to interact with the guests, and ask your questions through the chat that will be open from 6:30 p.m to 8 p.m, we kindly invite you to register for free in two minutes.
