En chœur is a performance that is part of Ninar Esber‘s research on simultaneity and repetition. This concern is found in various works such as Algorithms (video Installation, 2003), the series of performative drawings Tirer un trait (2005-2009), or Le cercle des gestes (2017-2019). En chœur also speaks of the different realities experienced by the same body, that of the displaced, the traveler, the exiled, the diasporic, caught between several cultures.
Ninar Esber was born in 1971 in Beirut, she lives and works in Paris. Artist and writer, she graduated from the École nationale supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy. She uses her body as a material in a performance-oriented practice, video, photo and drawing, playing on the notions of repetition, simultaneity, sometimes immobility and resistance. “For more than 19 years my work has led me to different axes of reflection: the place of the body in intimate and public space, the body and its multiple temporalities, the body and its multiple identities. “
